This is one of my favorite backstory movies. It really does not make sense to watch this movie without having seen the first one because this one literally picks up right where the first movie ended. It is not as scary, but it does an amazing job of giving a backstory and explanation for a lot of occurrences in the first movie. Explanations for things that I didn't even know needed explaining. The main story line is also pretty good and intense without the backstory parts going on. And you can tell this sequel was planned because of how perfectly it fits together with its predecessor. If it wasn't, they did a stellar job with making me feel that way. If you plan to see this movie, you should plan to watch both the first one and this one in one sitting. You will not be disappointed.
