Nothing from the advertising of this movie made me want to see it, but after seeing a couple of good reviews on it, I decided to go watch it. And I was definitely surprised. This movie was really good. They really should have done a better job at advertising it because from what I saw before going to watch it, I thought it was going to be a teen purge type movie. And it does have both of those elements, but this movie gets pretty serious and intense and isn't just about teenagers. Overall, Assassination Nation is like a modern day witch hunt, which is actually set in Salem. And there are a couple other different themes riddled throughout the movie like feminism and technology dangers among others and they address them all so well. To the point where I was emotionally enraged a couple of times. But there are some flaws to this movie. They could have cut a bit from the first part of the movie and it still would have been effective. And there are some parts that are predictable and sometimes the music drowns out the dialogue, but those are minor in comparison to the movie as a whole. Because there are still some decent shocking moments. The scare rating is so high from the intense moments not traditional horror scares.
