Gore - 5

Not much was held back in the murders. Every bit of every murder was shown. And there were enough murders to satisfy me. Some lacked creativity, since they were done in previous Chucky movies, but overall, job well done.

Scariness - 1

If you are familiar with the Chucky/Child's Play franchise, you will know not to expect to actually be scared anymore. This movie wasn’t much different. There are few to no jump scares or chilling moments at all.

Creepiness - 1

Chucky is not creepy anymore. He was a bit creepy in the earliest movies, but that died long ago.

Plot - 5

I loved how much Chucky’s crazy and often funny personality was displayed throughout the movie. It was classic Chucky. The overall plot was unique—not what I expected and not predictable. It also moved along pretty quickly. I liked how they acknowledged and carried on from every movie in the Chucky franchise, except Seed of Chucky. I guess it got a little bit crazy with that one though. It was a good continuation to the franchise and gets a bonus for having the original Andy in it.

Effects - 3

Being that this was made in 2017, I do think they could have done better with the special effects. There was something weird/off about Chucky’s face and his movements at times. Blood and makeup looked pretty realistic throughout the movie, but the effects in one or two of the murders seemed a bit off as well, but overall it wasn’t bad.

The actress playing Nica (Fiona Dourif) is the daughter of the actor who voices Chucky (Brad Dourif)
"Multiple Malcolm" is played by the same actor (Adam Hurtig) that played Officer Stanton from the previous movie, Curse of Chucky.
*spoiler for Curse of Chucky* Officer Stanton was the responding officer at the end of movie. He was also murdered by Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) in his cop car at the end.
