Even though the kill count in the movie is low, there was a lot of gore. Mainly because the gore did not only come from the kills, it was also from all the torture scenes. The kill count could have been higher, but there were some resilient characters in this movie. I am not sure if it was realistic or not to go through as much pain as some of the characters did and still live, but I took it for what it was. There were also some plain gross scenes and there is some cannibalism present.

There were quite a few intense scenes that really made you fear for the characters.

The pedophilia and perversion of the main character in the movie was pretty creepy.

I have seen and shown this movie to people on several occasions and everyone loves it. It is just a great movie (for people who love horror). Most of the characters make smart decisions, which is always a plus. The movie did an awesome job of making an emotional connection between the audience and the characters, right from the beginning. This was a catch and release, revenge movie, which isn't really typically, so it made it more entertaining and suspenseful. The ruthless killer was also a big plus. This movie was good from beginning, right down to the very end. It is a must see.

Through all the carnage, I had no complaints on how realistic everything looked.
