First off, if you have ever seen the original, DO NOT WATCH THE TRAILER FOR THIS MOVIE. The trailer completely gives everything away and makes this remake a less enjoyable experience. I tried to watch the movie as if I had never seen the trailer, to give it a fair shot. And from that perspective, it was a really good remake. It was not the exact same as the original so it made it like a new viewing experience. There are parts when you don't know what will happen next even if you have seen the original. There are a lot of cheap jump scares though. This one is not as scary as the original movie. It is moreso creepy at times. I didn't like how the foreshadowing parts seemed surreal versus scary and I don't feel like I was as emotional invested in the characters in this movie either. I did like how they gave more of an explanation on the happenings in this movie though and I enjoyed the ending.
