A young widower returns to his hometown to search for answers to his wife's murder, which may be linked to the ghost of a murdered ventriloquist.--IMDB
I saw this movie in theaters when it first came out and it immediately became one of my favorite horror movies. This movie really had all of the makings of a good horror. The creepy music was on point. The scares were awesome and not all just jump scares. And the anticipation and slow build up of the scares made them even better and more chilling. And ventriloquist dummies are just as scary as kids and old people. The backstory was really good and there was an amazing unexpected twist at the end that made up for some of the movies flaws. Because while I loved this movie, it did have some flaws. I wish the kills were a bit more graphic since this movie was R rated, the cop was pretty annoying, and there were a few dumb character moves. But all of these flaws pale in comparison to the movie as a whole. And if you pay really close attention towards the end, you can see the doll from the Saw movies, coincidentally also named Billy.
